cfaed offers “orienteering race” and “future lab”

During the Long Night of Sciences at 5 July, the Center for Advancing Electronics (cfaed) of the Technische Universität Dresden will organize an orienteering race on campus. Successful participants can win cfaed t-shirts. At this evening event, the new interdisciplinary cluster of excellence for microelectronics will be present at 17 different campus Locations.
At the main office of the cluster in Georg-Schumann-Straße 7a, the visitors can take part in a “future lab”. The question in focus: “What will my mobile be able to do in 2020?”
The participants can articulate their wishes as well as their fears. Later on, the comments will be posted on facebook (www.facebook.com/cfaed).
A special tour of the City of Dresden will stop at the new cluster of excellence at 19.45 h. The cfaed coordinator Prof. Dr. Gerhard P. Fettweis will present some information about the project to the guests. The Saxon Minister of Higher Education, Research and Arts, Prof. Sabine von Schorlemer, the Lord Mayor of Dresden, Helma Orosz, and the Rector of the Technische Universität, Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen are expected to visit cfaed.

Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften: cfaed plant Schnitzeljagd und Zukunftswerkstatt
VIPs machen ab 19.45 Uhr Halt im Exzellenzcluster
Eine Schnitzeljagd quer über den ganzen Campus veranstaltet das Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) der Technischen Universität Dresden bei der Langen Nacht der Wissenschaften am 5. Juli. Erfolgreiche Teilnehmer erhalten ein cfaed-T-Shirt als Anerkennung. Das neue interdisziplinäre Exzellenzcluster für Mikroelektronik ist an diesem Abend an über 17 Campus-Standorten präsent.
Am Cluster-Hauptsitz in der Georg-Schumann-Straße 7a können die Besucher an einer Zukunftswerkstatt teilnehmen. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage: „Was kann mein Handy 2020?“. Hier können Interessierte ihre Wünsche und Befürchtungen zur künftigen Mikrochip-Entwicklung formulieren. Die Äußerungen sollen anschließend auf Facebook diskutiert werden (www.facebook.com/cfaed).
Eine Sondertour der Stadt Dresden macht ab 19.45 Uhr Halt im neuen Exzellenzcluster. Dann informiert cfaed-Koordinator Prof. Dr. Gerhard P. Fettweis über das Projekt. Als Gäste werden unter anderem die sächsische Staatsministerin für Wissenschaft und Kunst, Prof. Sabine von Schorlemer, die Dresdner Oberbürgermeisterin Helma Orosz und der Rektor der Technische Universität, Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen, erwartet.
