Press Release No 4

Published on in PRESS RELEASES

Congratulations from the cluster: Cfaed-scientists are also successful in the „Initiative Zwanzig20“. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research today announced a grant of 45 million of euro for the project „FAST – Fast Actuators Sensors and Transceivers. A further sum of 30 million of euro should be contributed by the industry.

The project „FAST – Fast Actuators Sensors and Transceivers“ should improve the real time capacity of sensors and actors of wireless communication systems. It is coordinated by the Technische Universität Dresden. Speaker is Prof. Frank Ellinger, also leader of the cfaed research path “Carbon“. Furthermore, the cfaed-coordinator Prof. Gerhard Fettweis and the TU professors Dirk Plettemeier and René Schüffny are involved. The applied research in the area of information and communication technic as well as the microelectronic, one of the five research profile lines of the TU Dresden, will be strengthened. About 15 large-scale enterprises, six universities and three research institutes are among the about 50 “Fast”-initiators. They cover the complete value creation chain of materials, semiconductors, components and communication networks. The cooperation partners expect a market potential of one billion euro by FAST. The initiative „Twenty20 – partnership for innovation“should strengthen the economic and scientific competences in the new federal states by encouraging interregional and interdisciplinary cooperation. Ten of 59 competitors have been chosen, five from Saxony.

Pressemitteilung Nr. 4

  1. Juni 2013

Cfaed-Wissenschaftler bei „Initiative Zwanzig20“ erfolgreich:

Bundesministerium fördert das Projekt „FAST – Fast Actuators Sensors and Transceivers“
